Stated width across the bars, narrowest first.
Bar bags are sold on litres and the width is buried, but the range runs from 28cm to 55cm — the difference between clearing a 40cm drop bar and overhanging it by 15cm. A bag needs roughly 6cm more bar than its own width to leave room for hands, hoods and cable runs.
